Sadly, Many Christians are blinded by the Spiritual Warfare before us. Many self indulge in whatever they are concerned about. Our failure is right before our eyes. Are you blinded? If you are a Christian, you must be more concerned about God’s business than your own. God gave me these Words.
I am very careful about what I say, careful in that it has come from God. God talks to me every day. I hear Him. That is the only way I have survived. I listen to Him. The Holy Spirit is our messenger and comforter.
God showed me much last night. I was feeling worn out from the spiritual battles around me. I see the failure of New Mexico right before me – the failure of America and the world. It is a melt down. God is being left out. God reminded me to not be blinded to the Spiritual Warfare before us.
Many Pastors and many churchgoers are blinded by this Spiritual warfare; they are more concerned about THEIR CHURCH, than God. They are in a battle to gain attendees as the world goes to hell. Statements like this make me so unpopular with many. BUT! God reminded me last night why He put me here! Stand strong for HIM in love and care for all souls, shine our light, me and Sharon, to one person at a time, by foot and car. It really hit me this week when I saw a post on Facebook saying something like, “Churches need to stop their advertising and bragging on Facebook trying to gain members from other Churches.” Something to think about. Where is the unity in the Church?
I am nearly 70 years old and I have always gone against the grain, meaning I am not one to do what is popular in culture – never have, never will. So I am not a popular guy. The Lord confirmed with me to go forth and not be blinded by this Spiritual Warfare that is going on, as many Christians are. It is not the popular thing to do. Sharon and I stand for God, not popular culture.
It drives me nuts when I see a Church that can hold 300, have 20 or 15 people in it! What do they do with all the space? How do they utilize it during the week? Why don’t they open up a soup kitchen, a shelter, showers and health care for the needy? What would JESUS do?
We are praying for the peace of God to cover the city of Albuquerque and all over America during Christmas and beyond. We are praying for the guns of thugs to be put down, for the violence to end. We are thankful our Police officers and all those that serve in the Sheriff’s department and all of our State police officers. Evil is rampant here in Albuquerque, spreading very fast into Santa Fe and Rio Rancho. This past week has been one of the most violent I have ever seen in New Mexico! LORD HAVE MERCY! The Killing Fields of New Mexico.
This week, a sergeant with the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) was traveling through our neighborhood. I waved him down and we had a great talk. Needless to say, they do not have much time at all for crime prevention with all the 911 calls coming in constantly. The sergeant has a great attitude of service to the people in Taylor Ranch and all of Albuquerque.
I was talking to an elder of the Church yesterday, and he confirmed with me that so many Churches are declining in Albuquerque and all over America. I keep referring to Barna Research, it bears out here in New Mexico! The Impact of secular culture is huge.
Some Churches that had 300 hundred on a Sunday are down to 25. Some Churches have not baptized anyone in years! NO YOUNG PEOPLE! I have seen this as I travel. Where do these folks go? Have they left the Church for good? George Barna research bares out this decline. According to Barna’s research, people are leaving the church primarily due to a perceived disconnect between contemporary culture and the church’s message, particularly among younger generations, citing reasons like a lack of space to express doubts, feeling the church is not relevant to their lives, and a perception that the church is overly focused on social issues rather than personal spiritual growth; this often leads to young adults feeling uncomfortable asking questions about their faith within a church setting. Losing Religion: More New Mexicans have stopped going to church
Despite the efforts of many, the Church in New Mexico lacks unity. My elders always remind me to keep going……..keep planting seeds, that is what we do here at FGGAM, shining the light of JESUS to one person at a time. I cannot thank the Lord enough for putting such wonderful elders in my life, like 89 year-old Dr. Claude Cone and Pastor Stephen Bockemeier, Pastor Bill Ruhl, Deacon Charles McCargish and many more. Do you have elders in your life?
-
Generational disconnect:
Younger generations, like Millennials and Gen Z, are more likely to leave the church due to a feeling that the church doesn’t understand their concerns and struggles in the modern world.
-
Lack of intellectual engagement:
Many young people feel that the church does not allow for open discussion about doubts and complex questions, making them less likely to stay engaged.
-
Relevance to daily life:
A perception that the church is not actively addressing real-life issues and challenges faced by individuals can lead to disengagement.
-
Church leadership and practices:
Some people leave due to negative experiences with church leadership, overly rigid practices, or a lack of authentic community.
-
Impact of secular culture:The growing influence of secular viewpoints and values can also contribute to individuals distancing themselves from organized religion
