Am I my brother’s keeper?

Remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

James 5:20

Am I my brother’s keeper?

We’ve all heard that before. And in fact, if we are believers, our brothers and sisters in Christ, just like your earthly brothers and sisters, should be our priority when they are in need.

Whether it’s a spiritual need, a physical or emotional need or whatever we can do to help our kin, that’s what we should be doing.

Now, there’s a way to help and then there are ways that are not so helpful, that we should leave alone.

But I’m talking about somebody you may  know who is in sin, maybe living in an a way that would be detrimental to their physical health or spiritual health.

When a sinner turns from the error of their ways and back to the truth, that person is forgiven many sins.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

1 Peter 4:8

As believers, we’re to look out for one another and encourage one another to remain faithful and obedient to Christ.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

Hebrews 10:24

So then, while we [as individual believers] have the opportunity, let us do good to all people [not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being], and especially [be a blessing] to those of the household of faith (born-again believers).

Galatians 6:10

Wandering from the truth might be something we think we’d never do, but we never know when we may have need for someone to come walk along side us and to be shown mercy and grace. Restoration is key here.

So from now on we regard no one from a worldlypoint of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God,who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 5:16-21

Love each other deeply. And help carry each other’s burdens.

Many Blessing’s

Connie.
