Yesterday, Pastor “Papa” Bill Ruhl, FGGAM’s Vice Chairman, shared a Christmas season devotional with FGGAM’s board members. The devotional reflects on 2024 and speaks of the hope of a new year in 2025, in which “God’s poetry resides in the whispers of love we listen for in the whirlwind of life.”
Pastor Ruhl stated that much of the following was penned by his wife, Monica Ruhl, and how the words reminded him not only of the 26 Christmases they have shared together in marriage and ministry, but what an amazing gift Jesus is to each of us!
Devotion FGGAM 2024
It’s Christmas…and I keep opening the same gift – You! It never gets old, tired, or boring. Just the kind of gift you would want.
What a wonderful gift from God that only He could arrange in life’s journey. His poetry resides in the whispers of love we listen for in the whirlwind of life. There’s a heartbeat in all that He does; a rhythm, a song, a design, a purpose to look for.
It’s been called a silver lining that begins and concludes with Him. That’s how we know and sense the Divine touch – the wonder of God Himself… And it’s a beginning to more!
The wonder of God I don’t think can be explained, at least not very well. It’s the mystery of the Divine nature; It captures our attention, yet we see so much in part while yearning for the whole.
Jeremiah 45:5 declares, “I (God) will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go!”
That declaration came through the prophet to a man named “Baruch”, which means Blessing! Israel was under the judgement of God and Baruch was distressed by what he was going through.
God told him not to seek great things for himself, for disaster would come, but his life would be a prize wherever he went.
We need to heed that in this hour. Although the judgement of the Lord is at hand and we see so much distress and evil around us, the Lord is calling us Blessed, Baruch, and our lives will be our prize wherever we go, even as we face the coming challenges that lie ahead.
2024 (or 5784 in the Hebrew calendar) was the year of open doors…and what God opened no man can shut.
Early this summer, God began to speak to me of a time of “reset” that we were entering into. That reset is happening before our eyes in worldly events and repositioning of leaders and powers in the earth.
2025 (or the year 5785 which began on October 2, 2024) is the year of Grace, Breakthrough, and stepping into a spacious place. It is a season of promise and expansion. There will be freedom to move in the fullness of God’s plan for our lives.
In 2 Samuel 22:20, David sings, “He brought me out into a spacious place; God rescued me because He delighted in me!”
So, let’s see what we can step into in 2025, fixing our eyes on Jesus.
