NBC News, and all other major news outlets, report that President Joe Biden issued a presidential pardon yesterday evening (12/1/2024) for any and all crimes committed by Hunter Biden, the president’s son, from January 1, 2014 to December 1, 2024 – despite previous assurances that he would not do so.
Hunter Biden was scheduled to be sentenced on December 12, 2024 for his conviction on federal gun charges. He also was scheduled to be sentenced on December 16, 2024 in a separate criminal case in which he pleaded guilty to federal tax evasion charges this fall.
The White House released a statement last night, in which President Biden stated:
“I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice — and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further. I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision.”

My brothers and sisters, despite past assertions that no person is above the law, including President-elect Trump, and adamant assurances that he would not grant a pardon for criminal activity committed by his son Hunter Biden, President Biden has done exactly that.
This, as hundreds of ‘J6’ so-called rioters remain incarcerated in reportedly horrible conditions, with federal law enforcement continuing to this day to hunt down, charge and imprison anyone it can find who was simply present at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. This continuing response, in light of the destruction of all of the ‘evidence’ gathered by the unconstitutionally-established Congressional ‘J6 Select Committee’, is shameful beyond words!
This, as Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop remains in FBI custody with ZERO action taken regarding the apparent or reported crimes documented therein, including assertions by even GOP House investigators that President Biden was, in fact, involved with Hunter Biden’s quid pro quo business dealings with foreign business and persons, and benefited handsomely from such interactions.
This, as President Biden’s DOJ continued right up until President-elect Trump won reelection last month, pushing federal charges and threats of incarceration against Trump for allegedly mishandling classified information (which President Biden himself was charged with and was subsequently deemed by a prosecuting U.S. Attorney to be too memory-impaired to face federal charges), and Trump’s supposed incitement of an ‘insurrection’ at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, and the list goes on…
Interestingly, by pardoning all (federal) criminal activity by Hunter Biden since 2014, President Biden may have also sheltered his family and himself personally from potential criminal investigation and prosecution for matters intertwined with Hunter Biden’s criminal activity. Much of what happened is now certain to never see the light of day, at least not formally. And, frankly, there is so much to ‘clean up’ that for the sake of the United States, let’s pray that President-elect Trump displays incredible focus, discernment and restraint as he leans and reshapes the federal government’s largest agencies.
Sadly, the United States could spend (read: waste) million or billions of dollars it doesn’t have and decades of time investigating all of the apparent federal crimes and abuses from the last 10 to 20 years by members of the executive and legislative branches of government.
As believers and persons who CAN see ‘the forest for the trees’ because of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, we should pray that our elected governmental officials are not motived primarily or solely by the desire for personal and political retribution as we move forward as a country. There may, of course, be certain crimes deserving of swift and just action, but a culture of perpetual prosecution is not the answer and will hasten what some believe is the downfall of the United States happening before our very eyes.
As the Bible tells us, we are to walk humbly, with integrity, wisdom and moral courage before God.
