Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14
I use the beginning of a new year as a template for a new story. I get to choose the characters I allow in my story, I get to choose the direction I want to go in, although God is leading and directing my life, I do have a say on what I allow.
This year, I resolve to get closer to God, to pray more, to read and memorize scripture more and to spend more time with my family.
These are things I should be doing anyway, right?
But, what usually happens is that I allow other things to get in the way of what is really important. I believe that is sin. Anything that takes the place of God is wrong.
I can make changes and juggle what’s needed to change in my life. I can eliminate anything standing in the way of my spiritual walk.
One step at a time. That’s the key. If I try to do everything all at once, I’ll eventually get tired or bored with it and then I’ll shelf it. This is why New Year’s resolutions are given up so quickly.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Hebrews 12:1&2
As we start a fresh year, I pray that God leads you to new places, fresh starts, a different vision than you’ve ever had.
I pray that God unleashes his anointing on you!
Happy New Year,
Connie
