Did you Know that Gene Hackman enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at age 16? He lied about his age. Hackman served from 1946 to 1951 in China, Japan and Hawaii. He earned the rank of Private First Class and was a radio operator in the service. He served in Operation Beleaguer and the Occupation of Japan during his four and half years in the Marines.

The Oscar-winning actor, 95, his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, 64, and their dog were discovered at their home. Their causes of death are still being determined in the ongoing investigation.
