The peace talks between America and Russia continue to dominate headlines, with leaders in Europe and Ukraine increasingly wary of how they’ve been excluded from those discussions. While President Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and even Russian President Vladimir Putin have all acknowledged that Ukraine will be part of the negotiations when they begin in earnest, that is not how much of the Western world has seen this week’s events.
It didn’t help that the conversations with Russia’s representation have already essentially acknowledged that Ukraine will likely not be able to join NATO and that Russia will keep much—if not all—of the land they have taken so far in the war. Couple those accessions with Trump’s recent rhetoric in which he called Ukrainian President Zelensky a dictator and implied that Ukraine bore responsibility for starting the war, and it’s not difficult to see why many are wary of America leading the push for peace. I wrote this yesterday, let us be in prayer for peace.
I would be worried too, if I was a member of NATO. The debate of whether America should be a world peacekeeper and a defender of Europe goes on.
Many Americans believe Europe is not paying its fair share into NATO. We will see how all this turns out, especially between Russia and Ukraine.
I will say this, I believe Europe should invest more money into its security against Putin and not rely so much on America. I also believe Ukraine should be allowed to join NATO.
I do not agree with President Trump at all with how he is treating Ukraine. Trump is favoring EVIL PUTIN! My goodness! I do not get it. Putin is one of the most evil people in world history. I have often referred to him as a modern day HITLER who has had his own people killed. It’s as though Trump is abandoning the people of Ukraine – leaving them out to dry and Putin wins. I get it that Zelenskyy is not the perfect leader, BUT PUTIN IS PURE EVIL!
The List Is Long: Russians Who Have Died After Running Afoul Of The Kremlin
AP Reports:
SMARDAN, Romania (AP) — NATO members continued their largest combat exercises of 2025 on Wednesday, testing their ability to rapidly deploy large-scale forces on the 32-nation alliance’s eastern border as worries grow over its most powerful member, the United States.
The drills in Romania, which borders Ukraine, come as a shaken Europe grapples with a new U.S. course under President Donald Trump. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has demanded that allies dramatically ramp up military spending and said U.S. security priorities lie elsewhere — casting doubts on Washington’s longstanding security guarantees provided to Europe.
