Are you broken-hearted?
In times like these, we realize that only God can give us true hope and healing, and that His word is full of encouraging verses to heal a broken and crushed heart.
I’ve had so many prayer requests recently. Most of these requests are for people who are completely heartbroken. The reasons vary from severe illness to marital and financial issues. And a ton of issues in between.
Our prayer for these individuals is for healing for each individual issue, and then that they would turn their hope to Christ, because in him alone our hope can be found.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted”
Matthew 5:4
Jesus himself spoke these words. The Lord will wrap His arms of love and comfort around those who trust in Him.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand”
Isaiah 41:10
God promises to be with you and get you through this time of intense loss, disappointment and loneliness.
Only God can heal a shattered heart.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
“God uses broken things: it takes broken soil to produce a crop,
broken clouds to give rain,
broken grain to give bread,
broken bread to give strength.
It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume.”

God stands with you in your brokenness. You are not alone!
God’s love for people with broken hearts is clearly expressed throughout scripture. Read, memorize and pray over your scripture. It is crucial, especially as things on earth get harder.
