TORONTO — There were several injuries after a Delta Airlines flight from Minnesota crashed upon landing in Canada, local police said.
“Toronto Pearson (airport) is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for,” a post on X from the airport said just before 3 p.m. ET.

How many airplanes crash a year in the US?
According to the Aviation Safety Network, there were over 5,000 documented plane accidents in 2024. These incidents resulted in 1,571 fatalities. Most of the accidents involved personally owned aircraft, private aviation companies, or military aircraft. Commercial airlines were involved in very few incidents.
