The Albuquerque Journal recently reported that beginning on Monday, February 17, 2025, and continuing for an unspecified period of several weeks, Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque will perform “controlled fire experiments” at SNL’s Lurance Canyon Burn Site located on Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The Albuquerque Journal’s report, which may be read HERE, was based on a Kirtland AFB press release stating that if local residents “hear a big boom, followed by a big fireball, then see smoke in the coming weeks,” to not be alarmed.
