A glimpse of heaven.
Thoughts of heaven hit different when you have someone special there.
Heaven is our goal as Christians. And there are lots of scripture about heaven as well.
Let’s read a few.
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”
Matthew 6:19-20
“You are the Lord, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you.”
Nehemiah 9:6
In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
John 14:2
This next one is one of my favorites;
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—
1 Corinthians 2:9
We can never imagine what God has prepared for those that believe.
Think about the fact that God created earth in only six days and rested on the seventh.
And we see the beauty created in waterfalls, mountains, oceans also in flowers, sunrises and sunsets and the list can go on and on.
(Keeping in mind, it was done in only 6 days)
Then, think about what he said about going to prepare place for us and that he would return for us.
This has been 2000 years.
Just Imagine the beauty he’s created in heaven.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
John 14:3
We can only imagine!
Here’s a little glimpse of heaven that we find in the book of Revelation;
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.
It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve at the gates.
On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west.
The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb”
Revelation 21:10-14
Jesus talked about the kingdom of heaven, but he didn’t give a lot of description of what heaven would be like.
Here are some things he did say concerning heaven.
Jesus said to her, “I am the Resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”
John 11:25-26
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 3:20
“Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
Matthew 5:12
Folks, Heaven is a real place where we will spend eternity with our Father.
Make sure you’re ready to step into eternity.
If you’re not sure, reach out to a pastor or a Christian friend…and don’t delay!
Many Blessing’s
