KOB 4 News (Albuquerque, NM) reports that yesterday (3/28/2025) was a day little league baseball players and their families wait for every year.  It was the opening night for Roadrunner Little League; however, someone very special was missing this year – Terry Dolan.

Dolan was the beloved little league umpire who was killed in a car crash last August (2024) by an alleged reckless driver, Dustin Zumwalt.  Dolan’s name and memory will live on at the baseball fields as his wife, Melinda Dolan, keeps her husband’s memory alive.

An earlier KOB 4 News article from December 12, 2024, describing how Melinda Dolan unknowingly drove up to the accident scene in which her husband was killed, may be read HERE.

My brothers and sisters, when we become self-absorbed, self-centered, careless and perhaps even angry or drug or alcohol induced, we become dangerous to ourselves and to others.  I suspect Dustin Zumwalt was not planning or even trying to kill anyone, but his alleged actions have resulted in the death of another human being and precipitated untold grief by Terry Dolan’s family, friends and coworkers.

The Christian response?  Let’s pray.  Father, may You bring peace and comfort to those who grieve and who may harbor anger following Terry Dolan’s passing.  Father, we ask that You touch Zumwalt’s soul, causing genuine repentance – a repentance that only the true love of God can produce.  Father, we know that ours is not to condemn, but to pray for others, and to walk in the love, light and forgiveness of the Lord Jesus.  We ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus.  Amen.

John 3:16-17 (NKJV)
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
