Fox News reports that the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”), under the leadership of Elon Musk, spent the last several weeks reviewing Social Security records, disclosing millions of instances in which persons over the age of 120 held Social Security numbers.
The DOGE posted this information on the social media site X (@DOGE) HERE, stating that Social Security has now marked approximately seven (7) million persons deceased, all of whom were listed as being older than 120 years of age.

My brothers and sisters, I have published this information not to take a partisan approach to reporting, nor to bolster any public figure’s reputation, but rather, to point out that the bloat and complexity of the federal government is beyond practically anyone’s understanding. The need for corrective action is undeniable.
If one is inclined to immediately discount the veracity of the above numbers and assertions, I would remind that as Christians, the truth in all matters should be very important – convenient or not. Not all of the above-identified millions represents actual fraudulent recipients of Social Security funds of course, but how much is acceptable? None should be acceptable.
Another perspective is that considering the many reported findings of alleged financial mismanagement, waste, abuse or outright fraud flowing from the DOGE audits of multiple federal government agencies (e.g., Social Security, IRS, USAID, DOD), who would NOT want such matters brought to the light and corrected?
The Bible tells us that those who are involved in dishonesty and evil desire to keep their deeds, actions or inactions (i.e., sins of commission or omission) in the darkness!
John 3:19-20 (ESV)
“And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light [emphasis mine] and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.”
The Bible also tells us that that things hidden from the light will be exposed!
Mark 4:22 (NKJV)
“For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.”
And, the Bible commands us, as followers of Jesus, to walk as children of light, living out the fruit of the Spirit in our lives!

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: ‘Awake, you who sleep, [a]rise from the dead, [a]nd Christ will give you light.’”
