Such shame… This does great damage to the child and family and the American Church. Will this child and family ever be able to a normal life? We pray for the healing of the child and the family. We pray that Pastor Robert Morris finds his way back to JESUS. Reports like this make me sick!
OKLAHOMA CITY (March 12, 2025) – The Multi-County Grand Jury today indicted the founder of a Texas megachurch on five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child stemming from incidents that date back to the 1980s.
Robert Preston Morris, 63, resigned last summer as senior pastor of Gateway Church. The Southlake, Texas-based megachurch is among the largest in the United States.
In December 1982, Morris was a traveling evangelist visiting in Hominy with the family of the alleged victim, who was 12 at the time. The indictment alleges Morris’ sexual misconduct began that Christmas and continued over the next four years.
The alleged abuse started in 1982 when the victim, referred to in the indictment as C.C., was 12 years old and Morris was a traveling evangelist staying in Hominy, Oklahoma, with her family, according to the attorney general’s office. The abuse allegedly continued for four years. More Here
