PNM considering a public safety power shutoff today in parts of New Mexico

Due to the extreme weather conditions and increased wildfire risk, PNM is considering a public safety shutoff in areas in New Mexico on Thursday. The areas will include the East Mountains, Santa Fe, and Las Vegas. Bernalillo County is also on standby.

A high wind warning forecast in Santa Fe is expected to last from 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Thursday. PNM explained in a press conference on Wednesday that Santa Fe area residents may not have power from Thursday afternoon until Friday. More Here
