CNN reports that SpaceX is preparing to launch a Falcon 9 rocket this evening (3/31/2025), carrying a crew of four into an earth orbit that will travel directly over the North and South Poles – marking the first time this orbit has been accomplished.

The rocket is scheduled to lift off from a launchpad in Florida within a 4.5 hour window that opens at 9:46 PM (EDT) today.

The crew’s leader is Malta-based investor Chun Wang, who is financing the mission.  The mission was dubbed “Fram2” after a Norwegian ship that carried key expeditions to the North and South Poles at the turn of the 20th century.

The other three crew members are three polar explorers, Norwegian film director Jannicke Mikkelsen, German robotics researcher Rabea Rogge, and Australian adventurer Eric Philips.

As is always the case, space travel is always risky, no matter how well SpaceX has prepared the rocket for flight.

My brothers and sisters, there is One who remains infinitely higher than where these travelers are heading!  The Bible reminds us to seek the LORD in all things, knowing that His ways and thoughts are higher than ours:

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)
“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, [n]or are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord.  ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, [s]o are My ways higher than your ways, [a]nd My thoughts than your thoughts.’”

FGGAM prays that the flight would lift off, orbit and return to earth safely!  Father, we ask for Your blessing and protection upon the Falcon 9 crew and all who service, operate and support this mission.  May all the praise, honor and glory be Yours, in Jesus’ name!
