Prayer For Peace On Thankful Thursday…

Good morning beautiful people, good morning. I am sure you are aware of the lack of peace in our world today.  As I was listening to some beautiful words spoken about Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church, I learned one of the prayers he liked to pray was the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. I must admit I like to pray that prayer too; our world needs it now more than ever.

I had a Catholic sister who taught me much about devotion to Christ. I being Protestant and love my faith, learned a lot from this sister of mercy. God cares for everyone. There is no one that he created that he doesn’t desire to fellowship with. He loves people and died for people. He created the world and everyone it and together this morning, whether we are Catholic or Protestant, let’s petition God for peace on earth and the best for all his beautiful people, especially those who are suffering.

When you look into the eyes of people that are hurting, beautiful people that are suffering, it changes the dynamics of conversations, prayers and the desire to help. Our heart fills with compassion and our desire for the very best in what God could do for every person becomes the most important.

Let’s Pray:

Father, we pray the prayer this morning once again the prayer of St Francis of Assisi. Lord, make us an instrument of Your peace; Where there is hatred, let us sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Father, thank you for this day, thank you for life and use us today to be your hands and feet extended to a world in need of experiencing the love poured out for the sins of the world.

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. (1 John 2:2)
