The Rio Rancho Observer reports that Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull made it all but official today (4/15/2025) that he is running for governor of New Mexico.
Hull’s campaign issued a press release stating, in part, that the campaign has raised more than $200,000 in Hull’s bid for the state’s highest elected office and that he will speak publicly on June 2, 2025 about “our vision for The Land of Enchantment.” Hull urged people to “stay tuned” for further details.
Hull would become the the first Republican to enter the 2026 gubernatorial race to succeed the two-term, term-limited Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (D), who was elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022.

My brothers and sisters, FGGAM notes that Mayor Hull, self-described as a “Pro Business Mayor,” indicates on his campaign website that as governor, he would emphasize the issues of crime, jobs, economy, education and infrastructure in New Mexico.
The website does not indicate anything about his faith or his position on abortion.
Hull’s campaign website may be viewed HERE.
