Following the unexpected death of Rio Arriba County Sheriff Billy Merrifield, New Mexico State Police have released new information on the investigation into his death.
According to New Mexico State Police, agents learned the sheriff was involved in a minor crash with a woman in the early morning hours of April 20. The sheriff was in his patrol vehicle and not on duty at the time of the crash. More Here
