USA Today reports that following Hurricane Laura in southwestern Louisiana in 2020, Debbie LaFleur never thought she’d see her 6-year-old dog, Kingston, again. In the deadly storm’s aftermath, LaFleur’s neighborhood in Lake Charles was severely impacted by the hurricane and when she returned home after several days, there was no sign of her beloved Yorkshire Terrier.
Incredibly, LaFleur recently received notification from PetLink, a GPS tracking service, informing her that her now 11-year-old dog was found at a college fraternity nearly 300 miles away in another state. Kingston, who weighs just 7.5 ounces, has since returned home where he met his new brother – a three-year-old Shih Tzu named Cooper.

Praise Jesus that LaFleur was protected and found his way back home to his owner. Animals are a blessing from God and our pets bring us genuine and unconditional love! In many households, our pets are quite definitely members of the family.
The Bible tells us that a person in ‘right standing’ with God will care for his or her animals. The love we share with our pets is a gift from God, who grants us the desires and petitions of our hearts!
Proverbs 12:10 (Amplified Bible)
“A righteous man has kind regard for the life of his animal, [b]ut even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.”
Psalm 37:4 (Amplified Bible)
“Delight yourself in the Lord, [a]nd He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart.”
