IS threatens to attack Israel
Terrorist gangs in the Egyptian Sinai affiliated with the Islamic State terror militia issued a threat on Thursday to carry out attacks on Eilat, Israel’s southern port on the Red Sea, “in the coming days.” The group also threatened to launch attacks against the Islamist terror militia Hamas which rules the Gaza Strip as well as Egyptian security forces in the Sinai and throughout the country. The threats came on the same day as the Iraqi Ministry of Health announced that they had discovered a mass grave in the city of Tikrit, recently re-taken from IS by government forces. So far, the authorities had exhumed 470 bodies of people believed to have been massacred by IS. Israel preparing for the worst
According to media reports, Israel is requesting a large increase in defense assistance from the US in light of regional upheaval and the lingering threat from Iran’s renegade nuclear program. In related news, the IDF Home Front Command will initiate a week of drills on Sunday simulating conflict on multiple fronts, including rocket attacks and terrorism. Civilian agencies including police, firefighters and paramedics will also take part in the drills along with 240 local councils.
