Is America facing prophetic consequences in September?
There are many people who agreed with a certain author’s statement that the 2015 Shemitah, “ordained, spelled out, and determined the collapse of the American and global economy…even the exact timing down to the exact day.” While the exact day is not mentioned, it surely was implied in writings and interviews, bringing the start of September into the focus of an American collapse in the next 14 days. There is documentation that there were major stock downturns during every Shemitah since 1973. There is also documentation that the current market decline is the worst since 2010 and 1998, depending on the data used–neither of those are Shemitah years. So what is right? There is one thing that is very true.
White House correspondent and fellow watchman Bill Koenig says there has been a major stock market decline in every Shemitah since 1973 coinciding with US pressure on Israel to divide its land. Koenig’s calculations have been extensively documented. In his book, “Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel,” he has chronicled, for example, how within 48 hours of a president pressuring Israel to divide its land there have been political, financial or natural disasters. In August of 2005 when president George W. Bush pressured then Prime Minister of Israel Ariel Sharon to remove some 8,500 Israeli Jews from Gaza, Katrina hit the US coast. Inside of six months, Sharon suffered a stroke.
There is at least one event that will occur in September that has significant prophetic bearing–Congress deciding on whether to accept the “president’s” deal that will surely result in Iran having a nuclear weapon, and will reward them with billions of dollars in the process. Congress has until September 17 (four days after Shemitah) to overturn the deal, and must do so with a veto-proof margin. This egregious act is related to an implied threat made by the “president’s” chief of staff to Jewish leaders in April 2009 that if Israel did not give up its land to “Palestinians”, the White House would not prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon. Israel didn’t give up the land and the White House is giving Iran a pass on nuclear weapons.
We have to be careful to not twist or cherry pick scriptures and tie man’s opinions to world events to create prophecies. And it is not wise to hope judgment upon America. Judgment comes in the Day of the Lord, and it is not a good thing for those coming against Israel. In recent decades, however, there are documented severe consequences for coming against Israel. And the stage is set for them. Following are three scriptures that shall relate to this month’s events as they unfold. Genesis 12:3, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee.” Galatians 6:7, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.” Proverbs 29:2, “…When the wicked bear rule, the people mourn.” Discern which of them, or combination of them, apply as we watch and pray.
