Refugee resettlement groups are calling on President Barack Obama to nearly triple the number of refugees admitted to the U.S. by accepting 100,000 Syrians and 100,000 people from other nations in fiscal year 2016 — up from 70,000 in the current fiscal year.
The proposed numbers would be a dramatic increase in response to a dramatic situation: Four million Syrians have fled their country, some of them dying en route to safety and a better life elsewhere. MORE HERE
