Hello, I’m Jerry Stewart
The tallest building in Washington D.C. is not a building at all – it’s the 555 foot tall Washington Monument – and no building or structure in that city is allowed to be taller.
But why did they design it to be shaped like a pillar? Because it is a monument to George Washington’s character – that’s a word you don’t hear much about these days, but they wanted the monument to him to be like him – standing straight and strong and tall like a pillar.
As we look at the Washington Monument, this pillar standing straight and strong and tall, there is one question we must each ask ourselves;
“If a monument was built to me, based on my character, what would it look like?”
Think about it.
