Tensions remained high in Jerusalem on Wednesday following a violent morning in which an 18-year old Palestinian woman stabbed an Israeli man, who responded by shooting her. The incident took place near the Lion’s Gate to the Old City and was quickly contained by security forces. Also on Wednesday morning, on the road near Beit Sahour, east of Bethlehem, a mob of Palestinians severely beat an Israeli women during an attempted kidnapping from her vehicle after blocking the road with large rocks and hurling smaller stones at several vehicles. One other motorist was hurt and several other vehicles were damaged in the attack, which came hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that a new system of cameras will monitor the road system in the West Bank in order to better protect motorists.
