Forces loyal to the regime of Syrian president Bashar Assad launched a long-anticipated offensive in northern Homs Province Thursday, accompanied by large numbers of Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commandos as well as terrorists from Hezbollah and under air support from Russian warplanes.
