Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir lashed out at Iran Monday over its involvement in the Syrian civil war, saying Teheran “can have a role” in Syria’s future only if it stops supporting the Assad regime. Jubeir added that Iran is now an “occupier of Arab lands in Syria” and that it should stop “meddling” in Arab countries like Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. However, reports indicate that Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani is in physical command of a joint force of Iranian commandos and Shi’ite militias from Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan which is participating in the regime’s assault on Aleppo. The offensive has already sparked another massive wave of refugees flowing towards the Turkish border amidst fierce fighting which has caused large numbers of casualties on all sides.
