Iran Blasted By Amnesty International

The self-described “human rights” NGO Amnesty International issued a report this week condemning Iran for, among other things, executing a large number of people for crimes they were convicted of committing when they were under the age of 18. The report came amidst Iranian President Hassan Rohani’s trip to Italy, where several large business deals were signed reportedly totaling around 17 billion euros ($18.4 billion). “It’s time to turn the page and open the door to cooperation between our countries in different areas,” an Iranian officials told journalists. Rohani added that he hopes for as much as $50 billion in foreign investment in Iran’s economy, saying it would position Iran as an engine of economic activity in the Middle East, creating jobs which would help mitigate the threat of terrorism.
