The Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City is at the center of a crisis in the governing coalition that has ebbed and flowed in recent weeks, with another major eruption on Monday, when Shas chairman and Interior Minister Arye Deri told Channel 2 news program that “We won’t sit in a government that recognizes (non-Orthodox streams of Judaism), not over the Western Wall, not for marriage and not for divorce.”
