Russia Threatens Unilateral Action in Syria
Russian officials declared their intention this week to react forcefully to any “cease-fire violations” in Syria despite the partial withdrawal of Russian forces from the region. The announcement left US officials scrambling for an appropriate response. Meanwhile, fierce fighting continued between various factions and the Islamic State (IS) terror militia and the Al Nusra Front despite the cease-fire.
