New Mexico Lt. Governor John Sanchez made the following statement on his Facebook page today:
Recent news of a Congressional investigation into the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center’s (UNMHSC) relationship with Southwestern Women’s Options Clinic and Dr. Curtis Boyd is troubling and alarming. The investigation has apparently revealed that the University, through this relationship, is participating in the harvesting and testing of infant body parts.
I have been clear about my opposition to the harvesting of infant organs by Planned Parenthood and am even more appalled to learn that it could occur right here in conjunction with the University of New Mexico. The practice is both barbaric and unethical, and I certainly expect better from UNMHSC and its leaders.
I have also been clear that I am unapologetically pro-life; however, this issue is not about abortion – it is about whether our flagship university should be participating in such unconscionable acts.
Further, if recent allegations are true, and taxpayers are funding malpractice insurance premiums for Dr. Boyd to perform these actions, I call on University leadership to immediately terminate his coverage and sever any and all ties with him and his clinic.
I believe we can all agree that our flagship university, which so many sons and daughters of New Mexico proudly call their alma mater, should not be engaging in the harvesting and experimentation of infant body parts.

Dear FGGAM Family,
We come to you this morning asking that you pray for our Dear Friend Cowboy Clarence Montoya! Yesterday, after I arrived at the First Baptist Church in Quemado, NM I got a Facebook message from Clarence’s sister, Juliet that the Cowboy was being transported from Socorro, NM to Rust Hospital in Rio Rancho, NM. Clarence was bleeding internally. When I got home last night Juliet told me that the Doctor’s are running tests and the Cowboy is resting. Please pray healing over Clarence, in Jesus name, Amen!
As many of you know, Clarence has been on the radio and TV with me more than a few times! His story is one of faith and love for others! Please keep him in your prayers!
The Cowboy is always calling me to ask if there is anybody he can pray for…….now is the time for us to pray for him! In Jesus name we pray for complete healing for Clarence and peace and comfort for the family. Lord Willing, I will be visiting him today! 
We also received this news…….our prayers are with the Janice Arnold-Jones and family….we have prayed for Mirium over the years and the entire family……they have shown us much love over the years….I know first hand how much Janice loved her Mom…Janice took such good care of her.

Mirium H. Arnold, 89, passed from this earth on March 25, 2016. Mirium was a woman of grit and determination, having been one of the first women allowed to wear pants at the Quaker Oats plant in St. Joseph, MO where she led a cake and pancake mix testing lab. Throughout much of her life, Mirium was a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. After the plane crash in Newburgh, NY that took the life of Bob, her husband, Mirium and her three children moved to New Mexico. For many years Mirium served as the Electrical Engineering Dept., at UNM, secretary, working closely with Professor Peter Dorato. Upon retirement from the University, Mirium and her brother Stephen created and ran My Aunties Dolls, specializing in soft dolls with exquisitely embroidered faces. Mirium was a member of Soroptimist International, Professional Business Women of New Mexico and the Sandia Doll Club.
Born May 2, 1926 in St. Joseph, MO, Mirium was preceded in death by Foster Hotchkiss (father), Capt. Robert F. Arnold, USAF (husband), Nelrose D. Scott (mother), James “Buck” Scott (step-father), Richard A. Arnold (son) and Stephen S. Hotchkiss (brother). Mirium is survived by her cousin Charlotte McDermott (91) Grass Valley, CA, daughters Janice E. Arnold-Jones (John L. Jones) of Albuquerque and Karen A. Morse (Neil James Morse) of Green Valley, AZ, nephew Stephen S. Hotchkiss, Springfield, MO, niece Sarah Bantz and daughters Jessica and Nicole, Des Moines, IA, and her grandchildren Robert B. Jones and Mary E. Jones both of Albuquerque.
Our heartfelt thanks to so many friends, and the staff at Las Colinas, Golden Years, and Presbyterian Hospice as we made this journey with Mom.
Memorial services will take place a later date. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
