Iran Violates JCPOA Agreement and Demands US Uphold It

Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif declared during a press conference in Romania Wednesday that US President-elect Donald Trump needs to honor US commitments under the JCPOA nuclear deal even as the International Atomic Energy Agency was issuing a report saying Iran had violated a key aspect of the agreement.

Arafat Museum Opens in Ramallah

A museum dedicated to the life of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is scheduled to open to the public on Thursday. The museum, which cost $7 million and eight years to construct, is located on a plot of land in between Arafat’s tomb and the office of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The museum’s exhibits include Arafat’s trademark white and black checkered keffiyeh, his personal handgun and the Nobel Peace Prize he was awarded along with the late Israeli leaders Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres after they signed the 1993 Oslo Accords.

Medvedev Begins Three-Day Visit to Region

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Jerusalem Thursday for the start of a three-day tour of the region. His first stop early in the morning was a visit to the Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City, while officials told reporters that the trip, which marks 25 years of diplomatic relations between Israel and Russia, will include the signing of cooperation agreements in the fields of agriculture, customs, high-tech and construction.
