Governor Susana Martinez Announces Pull Together Effort to Help Families this Holiday Season
33 MVD Offices to Collect Food and Toys for CYFD Families
Albuquerque, NM — Today, Governor Martinez announced a new Pull Together effort to collect food and toys for New Mexico kids and families this holiday season. Thirty-three MVD offices, in partnership with CYFD, will collect canned goods, other non-perishable food and toys for families in need throughout the state.
“For some families, it’s just not possible to get everything they need for their children over the holidays,” Governor Martinez said. “We wanted to do something about it this year, because we know how generous New Mexicans are, and we want to keep doing everything we can to make New Mexico the best place to be a kid.”
The food and toys will go to families who are currently involved with CYFD and are in need of assistance during these holidays. Additional food and toys will go toward local food banks and charities.
“We are extremely grateful to the employees of MVD for their generosity and willingness to help provide much needed joy to our families during these holidays,” said CYFD Cabinet Secretary Monique Jacobson. “The generosity of the people in our communities is a true testament to the important role that they not only play in improving the lives of our children, but all children throughout New Mexico.”

“We are extremely proud of our MVD employees for doing everything possible to help families around New Mexico,” said Demesia Padilla, Cabinet Secretary for the Taxation and Revenue Department. “We encourage all communities to visit a local MVD office to make a donation to help support families in their communities.”
