Trump picks retired Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster as next national security adviser
President Donald Trump announced Monday that retired Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster will serve as his national security adviser. McMaster replaces Michael Flynn, who resigned amid allegations that he misled the White House about his communications with Russia’s ambassador to the United States. Retired Army Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg will remain as the National Security Council’s chief of staff.
