Every life is important to the Lord. Christians should value life too. It does not matter what is on the outside to God, because He look at the heart. It is amazing, however, what can happen when we value a person and help them with their outside.
Take Jim Wolf for instance. He had long, unkempt hair and a full, ungroomed beard. He wore a casual T-shirt with a white undershirt underneath.
At first glance, Wolf looked the stereotype of the homeless veteran that he was, one who struggled with poverty and alcoholism for years. While these internal struggles can take a long time to cast off and reverse, it took only a few hours in a salon chair to change Wolf’s image and begin to turn around how the Grand Rapids, Mich., man even viewed himself.
Churches around the nation get involved in this way and we should too. The Lord calls on us to give aid to our neighbor. The difference you can make in a person’s life can be nothing short of amazing. Talk to your pastor at your church about how you can make a difference in your community today.
