URGENT UPDATE FROM KOB TV:
Smoke from the Buzzard Fire in Catron County New Mexico is making its way to many parts of the state, including the Albuquerque metro area and the East Mountains.
The fire, initially sparked Tuesday for reasons still unknown, has swelled to over 12,000 acres in size. Nearly 500 personnel are working to contain the Gila National Forest blaze, according to the latest updates from officials.
We are praying for the safety of all. You can see from this picture the smoke has moved into ABQ. T took this picture at 12:28pm today from the west side looking into the Sandia Mountains. I took the dogs for a run, cut it Short because of the poor air quality. Praying for the safety of the Firefighters and all!
