“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 In My Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.” (John 14:1-4)
When I was young, in elementary school, our days were from 8 am to 4 pm. There was a big bell in a high tower, the rope of which hung down the front corner of our first grade classroom. The janitor would ring the bell for the start and close of school, plus recesses.
I remember, and loved the feeling in my heart, as the janitor appeared to ring the 4 o’clock bell. I was going home!
Today, there are those who refer to me as a senior citizen, though I do not feel like one most of the time. Nevertheless, I am aware that somewhere, out in the hallways of my life, the janitor is out there watching the time to ring my 4 o’clock bell. Then, I will be going home!
Beloved friend, there is only one certain assignment to be completed before the 4 o’clock bell tolls for you, and that is simply call upon the name of the LORD Jesus Christ. Have you finished your assignment? No late assignments allowed after that bell sounds.
