Blessed Are…, Matthew 5:4

Matthew 5:4 (NKJV): Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

Seems unusual that Jesus would say, that those who mourn are blessed, right? Well, if you think about it, those who are mourning, are experiencing a loss. It’s usually those who are going through a loss, of sorts, are the ones who would be willing to hear counsel. They are the ones who are more willing to hear about how God will work through their sorrow. Of course, it would take someone who has compassion to hear their sorrow to lead them to this discussion.

Mourning is not always about when you lose someone. Someone who mourns, could be someone who recently lost a job. It could be someone who lost material things. It could be someone who even stopped using a substance, of sorts, to make them feel better. Sometimes, God will remove things from our lives, to help us to see and hear Him again. Especially is it is something that has distracted us from Him. We can take heart that although we may have lost something or someone, He is always going to be there.

Have you recently gone through a loss? Is it someone who was close? Is it something that you felt you needed in your life? Have you sought His Help in the situation? Maybe this is a time when He wants you to seek Him. Maybe He is trying to draw you back to Him.

Ask for His Help in this time. Spend some time in Praise and worship, even if it’s hard. You may find that in His Comfort, it is exactly what you need and more.

We will continue  be looking at the Sermon on The Mount, continuing with The Beatitudes. Although,  we need Jesus to bring us back into A Relationship with God The Father, The Sermon on The Mount deals with Heart Issues which is what we should look at when learning to have that Relationship with God.
If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.

It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it.

We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already. If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know.

Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance.
