(Quick note: We are spending the first 4 weeks of 2019, in prayer, every night at our church, at 5pm. You are invited to join us, 4817 Central NE, Albuquerque.)

To show love to others, is a continuous practice we have to lean. Once we learn it, we have to continue to practice it so that we learn how to use it more and also so that we don’t forget how to do it.

It’s easy for us to think of ourselves. We tend to put self above others, partly, because that’s what we are taught. “Take care of yourself first because no one else will”, is something we hear often. There are a lot of “self-help” books available because of this principle.

We will find that when we look at helping others, that we will begin to see joy. A good acronym for us to practice is JOY:

J=Jesus first. When we look to Him first in all things, we will see Wisdom and also True Love.

O=Others second. Every time we help someone, we get a sense of joy. We experience what it means to get out of ourselves and put into practice what Our Lord teaches us.

Y=You last. It is ok to take care of your needs but, don’t make your needs be a priority in your life when you’re trying to learn to Love like Jesus does.

Lord, teach us to lead others in Your Love.

Teach us to love without hypocrisy. We don’t want our love to be tainted. We want to learn to Love like You do.

Help us to know what is evil and put it out of our lives. Instead, we want to cling to what is good. We have ideas what is good but, sometimes, that is not what is Truly Good. Please give us discernment in this area.

Please, Help us and show us how to be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another. We tend to have favorites. We know that in Your Kingdom, there are no favorites, You Love us all equally.

We do not want to lag in diligence, but do want to be fervent in spirit, serving You. We learn about Your Love by doing so. We rejoice in hope, remain patient in tribulation, and continue steadfastly in prayer. When we do these things, You mold us to be who You want us to be.

We ask for the ability to distribute to the needs of the saints, and to be given to hospitality. We know without Your Provision, we will not be able to do so.

Teach us to bless those who persecute us, yes we want to bless and not curse. Lord, if anyone can show us how to do this, You can. You have endured much rejection from us and others. However, You continue to show us Love.

You want for us to rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. This gives us opportunity to know others more. This helps us to learn of their needs. This gives us the information we need to help others.

Please forgive us for setting our minds on high things, and not associating with the humble. We lost sight of why we do what we do. We forget that we are not be wise in our own opinion.

Teach us to repay no one evil for evil. Instead, to have regard for good things in the sight of all men. We believe that retaliation belongs to You. You are a Righteous Judge and will deliver whatever revenge that needs to happen, otherwise, we may end up being more harsh then You intend for us to be.

Help us, please, to live peaceably with all men. We do not avenge ourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. We may find that what we seek revenge for is not something that is to be revenged.  Therefore “If our enemy is hungry, we will feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink. This is a form of love that will heap coals of fire on his head.”

Please, help us to not be overcome by evil, but instead to overcome evil with good. This may be the way we point others to You.

Thank You for Your Love. In Jesus Name, Amen.

If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.

It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it.

We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already. If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know.

Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance. If you find yourself in need of prayer and/or encouragement, please, feel free to call or text +1 (505) 600-1027 or email cross66info@gmail.com
