Thursday was a horrific morning at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. A 16-year-old student panned to kill many! Thankfully NOBODY was shot!

Authorities in Aurora, Illinois, say 45-year-old Gary Martin was let go from his job at a manufacturing warehouse on Friday when he opened fire on his co-workers. Five employees at the Henry Pratt Facility were killed. One other was wounded. Martin also wounded five responding officers, according to police. Adriana Diaz reports. Read the full story

Let me first start by saying, my heart goes out to the victims and the families affected by the unfathomable crime that took place in Florida yesterday. They are in our most sincere prayers! Sadly, it seems it’s become an all too familiar scenario lately & it shouldn’t be! All of us want to know what we can do to prevent this!? What’s the solution? Why does this keep happening?! The truth is, these violent acts are merely a symptom of the true disease. The disease is sin & the Bible says that the wages of sin is death. We’ve turned our back on God. The moral fabric of what makes up this great nation is deteriorating at an accelerated rate. The problem begins at home. We’ve become immune to sin; it’s crept into our homes & we’ve made it dinner & allowed it to stay the night…our kids fill their minds with corruption & violence in the music they listen to; the movies they memorize & the violent video games that consume their time & we have turned a blind eye. “Live and let live” we say. We’ve disconnected from reality. We’re desensitized to murder; think about it…we kill our unborn babies out of convenience at an unprecedented rate in this country! It’s a heart issue; NOT a gun issue! We have told God to go away; we don’t need him. He’s not welcome in our homes; our government, our schools, heck, he’s not even welcome in our churches 1/2 the time. Sadly, we are seeing the results of that & it’s painful; we are reeping what we have sown. Like rebellious children, we’ve acted as though we know more than our Heavenly Father; you know, the one who created the universe & formed us it of dust-he probably doesn’t know much . Pride comes before a fall & our pompous arrogant attitude is getting us in a mess quick! This should be a wake up call! We need to do as we ought to & repent! As a nation, as a people, individually we need to turn back to God. That is the ONLY solution to the mess we’re in. We need God & we need to admit that. We cannot do it on our own; we’ve tried & look at the result. It’s not a mystery why these things are happening; it’s clear as day in God’s word: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 God help us!!
