A Call To Prayer By Jeanne Theriault
The Prophet Jeremiah wrote Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know (Jeremiah 33:3)
The principle behind this promise from God is reaffirmed in James 4:8 Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you
God always respond to believing prayers. Praying the word is effectual and it avails much in the believers life because it builds faith in your heart. It activates God supernatural power to meet our needs (James 5:16)
TEN STEPS TO PRAYER
1 Become still Stillness brings you to a place of peace and the knowing with expectation that God hears and will answer for he is faithful
Psalm 46:10 Be still and know I am God
2 Give adoration Worship God, He is Your creator your Savior your all in all
Psalm 16:1 I love the Lord for he heard my voice, he heard my cry for mercy , because he turned his ear to me , I will call on him as long as I live.
Psalm 5:7 But I, your great mercy, will come into your house in reverence will I bow down toward your holy temple.
3 Make a confession of faith, Agree with what his word says about you and what he can do for you
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
4 Give Him thanks by giving a sacrifice of praise for all that he has done
Hebrews 13:15 Through Jesus therefore let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise the fruit of the lips that confess his name .
5 Make supplication Agree with God in prayer to fulfill his will. Which means to be persistence not giving up (1 Samuel 1-28) Hannah was a women that was persistence she cried out to the Lord for a child and God had favor on her because of her persistence and He gave her a son.
6 Be specific when making a petition to God if you need a healing, if you want peace whatever the need maybe
1 John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God that is we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us whatever we ask we know that we have what we asked of him .
7 Secure the promise When you petition the Lord take and believe God promise
2 Corinthians 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made they are yes in Christ and so through him the Amen is spoken by us to the glory of God
8 Believe After you petition your request you need to believe asking in itself does not cause you to receive
Mark 11:22 Have faith in God Jesus answered I tell you the truth if anyone says to this mountain go throw yourself into the sea and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. It will be done for him. Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it and it will be yours.
9 Give Him Thanks Thanksgiving expresses your appreciation for God’s forgiveness and mercy and is the highest form of faith. Cause you are thanking God for what you yet don’t see because you believe it is all already done
James 1:6 But when you ask he must believe and not doubt , because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord
10 Live in Hope and expectation
Psalm 39:7 But now Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you
Psalm 62:5-7 Find rest, O my soul in God alone, my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation he is my fortress , I will not be shaken.
Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us.
