God Bless you Sister Connie Keyohara! Thank you for another wonderful message!

***************************

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. Psalm 118:8

Have you ever been disappointed or let down?  Maybe by someone you trusted, or someone you love?

What do we do with the hurt, angry feelings or broken heart?

Let’s go straight to the Scripture because there are lots of verses to cover.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Romans 12:19

Revenge belongs to God. He repays as he sees fit. We don’t have that authority. If we try to avenge ourselves, it will end bad.

When we have been wronged we can find it hard to keep from hating the wrongdoers, but Paul who had endured persecution himself, told the Christians to endure it patiently, without wanting vengeance.

Never seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

Leviticus 19:18

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Ephesians 4:32

There have been times that we were on the giving end of hurt and disappointments. We expected forgiveness and mercy. So, why shouldn’t we be willing to give it as well?

Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.

1 Peter 3:9

Beware of becoming bitter. Bitterness is a root. If those roots of bitterness are watered and fed, they actually grow stronger. They’re next to impossible to uproot. Be careful not to entertain bitterness.

When this happens, it affects everything and everyone around you. You may not see it if you’re really hurt or angry, but you will reap the consequences of becoming bitter and often times so will your family.

Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the LORD to handle the matter.

Proverbs 20:22

Staying clear of revenge and anger is really tough. When we have been hurt or when a loved one has, it is very tough, but we must seek God through prayer.

This last scripture really touched me and it made me think:

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

Hebrews 12:14.

I’m definitely not saying to be a doormat or to trust just anyone, but I am saying that God will take care of you. Don’t let someone who is inconsiderate or evil, take from you what God has blessed you with….JOY

The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.

Exodus 14:14

My prayer for you today is that you would allow God to lead you through your anger and hurt.

Many Blessings,

Connie Keyohara
