Another Piece Of Humble Pie, Please…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Have you ever been so convinced you were right about something only to find out you were wrong? Have you ever had to eat some humble pie? I sure have, I think we all have. It’s good for us really. Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus tells us to come to him, all you who are weary and burdened, and he will give us rest. He tells us to take his yoke upon us and learn from him, for he is gentle and humble in heart, and there we will find rest for our souls.
Jesus was humble, he made himself of no reputation. He took on the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name. (Philippians 2:7-9)
The way up in the kingdom of God is down. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. (1 Peter 5:6)
How about another piece of humble pie today? Let’s Pray…
Father, we bow before you today. You are the most high God and we worship you. Thank you for keeping us humble and pliable in your mighty hands.
Father, thank you for changing us to be more like you. May we be found faithful to whatever you may ask of us. May the light of Jesus shine through us today and every day. Amen.
Have a blessed day God’s beautiful people. The way up is down. Bow low.
So the last will be first, and the first will be last. Matthew 20:16
