I had an amazing father. My Grandfather Haley was born in 1865. He died at age 48. My Dad was born in 1900 and died at age 58. My Dad only had a 4th grade education because when his father died, he and his older brother had yo go to work to support their Mother and 3 sisters. As I grew up in the 1940s, my Dad was the most positive happy person I’ve ever known. If anyone ever had reason to be negative, sad, angry at the world, it was my Dad. He was 8 years old when his Dad died. He had to quit school. He lost his brother in WW 1. His sister died at age 22 from TB. His Mother died when he was 38. My Dad never married until he married my mother when he was 39 in 1939. I was born in 1940, but my twin sister died the next day. I grew up in a loving home where there was no child abuse, no spousal abuse, no fighting, no hunger. It was a wonderful childhood. We had horses and the great outdoors in North Dallas County Texas. My Dad and I were baptized together. He loved Jesus and was an honest businessman. Because of his loving nature, it was so easy for me to come to Jesus and love my Heavenly Father. My Father died when I was 18. I miss him so much, but I look forward to the day I see him again. What a day that will be.
