Your choices are: Big Government, Big Business or Big Labor.

Your question is: What do you believe is the biggest threat to the United States of America in the future?

A record number of Americans, 72 percent, answered: Big Government.

A new Gallup poll of 1,031 adults was conducted from December 5th through December 8th with a margin of error of 4 percentage points.

This is a record high since the polling outfit began asking the question nearly 50 years ago. The response suggests that far-reaching government policies such as ObamaCare, along with recent revelations of NSA spying tactics, IRS issues and such, have helped raise concerns among Americans. “(The findings) may be partly a reaction to an administration that favors the use of government to solve problems,” Gallup wrote.

Big government has always topped business and labor as a concern since Gallup began asking the question in 1965 but its previous high was 65 percent in 1999 and 2000 before the September 11 attacks helped rally American support for government institutions and officials. During the Obama era, big government fears have increased steadily, from 55 percent in March 2009 to 64 percent in November 2011 to Wednesday’s finding. Since Obama took office, an average of 64 percent of Americans have named big government as the nation’s greatest threat, compared to an average of 56 percent during George W. Bush’s presidency.

The poll found 21 percent believe big business is the nation’s greatest threat while only 5 percent fear labor’s influence which marks a record low for the poll which could be an indication of the labor movement’s decline over the past several decades, the company said.

After serving in the United States Navy for 22 years I retired from the service late in 1991. Having always loved the southwest, shortly after retiring, I moved to the Albuquerque area where I have resided since. Initially I worked as a contractor for approximately 6 years doing cable construction work. That becoming a little dangerous, at an elevated age, I moved into the retail store management environment managing convenience stores for roughly 16 years. With several disabilities, I am now fully retired and am getting more involved with helping Pastor Dewey & Pastor Paul with their operations at FGGAM which pleases my heart greatly as it truly is - "For God's Glory Alone". I met my precious wife Sandy here in Albuquerque and we have been extremely happily married for 18 years and I am the very proud father to Sandy's wonderful children, Tiana, our daughter, Ryan & Ross, our two sons, and proud grandparents to 5 wonderful grandchildren. We attend Christ Full Deliverance Ministries in Rio Rancho which is lead by Pastor's Marty & Paulette Cooper along with Elder Mable Lopez as regular members. Most of my time is now spent split between my family, my church & helping the Pastors by writing here on the FGGAM website and doing everything I can to support this fantastic ministry in the service of our Lord. Praise to GOD & GOD Bless to ALL! UPDATED 2021: Rick and Sandy moved to Florida a few years ago. We adore them and we pray for Rick as he misses Sandy so very, very much!
