Listen to my words, O Lord; consider my groaning and sighing. Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
Psalm 5:1-2
Is a trial seriously dragging you down? In some hardships, nothing seems to offer consolation or comfort. Nothing. If I am describing you if a fog of dark emotions is suffocating your hope listen to the words of David, in Psalm 5:1: “Consider my groaning, O Lord, heed the sound of my cry.” Oh, friend, God hears every whimper in your heart; he does not take lightly the muffled anguish in your soul. No one is as in touch or in tune with the sadness inside of you as is the Lord. He pays close attention to every deep, inexpressible fear and longing. So do not stuff your emotions; instead, cry aloud to him, and turn every faint feeling Godward, not inward. Stir up hope in your heart, knowing that your Lord is in control of every circumstance. It means that he alone is the answer to every cry of your soul.
