I was so super blessed by Windom, Minnesota Elementary Assistant Principle Dane Nielsen for asking me to be part of the schools morning announcements and the introduction to the Pledge of Allegiance. Many of you know that Windom is my hometown, I love my hometown, it was where my Christian foundation was built! Windom has such a wonderful heritage, bringing forth to the world, pastors, teachers, principles, business leaders, missionaries, artists, musicians, police officers, firefighters, EMT’s, farmers, government leaders, newspaper reporters, radio and tv reporters and on and on…….My long time buddies of many years say that I grew up in Mayberry! Windom is a vibrant community of about 4500 folks. I would not trade my growing up for anything in the world. An awesome community of Churches and an excellent school system for sure! I also had the best Mom and Sad!!! PTL!!! Best Sunday School Teachers ever and the very best school teachers and coaches ever!!!! I would be amiss if I did not add this…….I just got back from our run in the park and God showed me that I should also share what I tell Dave and Rahn from the Windom newspaper from time time……..just think…..Windom has an excellent weekly newspaper, two great local radio stations, an awesome hospital, Fire Department, Police Department, Ambulance Service, Toro Mfg. and the pork plant and other industry and local businesses! In my life I have traveled much of America…..not many communities the size of Windom have been blessed like Windom! Mark my word for sure! I love children, they are a gift from God. Our children must be surrounded in love and care. Shown the love of Jesus. They must be shown that their is love in this world, that they matter and can achieve great things. Amen!

When you watch this video I think you will capture my love for children and for my hometown.

Mom

We want to wish all the Mom’s in the world Happy Mother’s day!!! I know of three Mom’s that will be having their first Mother’s Day without their sons. Lisa, Diana and Lucy all have lost a young son in the last year. Our heart weeps for them, our prayers are with them and the entire family. I also want us to remember all the single Mom’s throughout the world who work so very hard to provide for their children. When I hired a single Mom during my radio days, they were the hardest workers!!! Sharon and I have a special place in our hearts for single Mom’s. We are all one in Christ, let us not forget. While many celebrate, many mourn.

I wrote this for Mother’s Day 2014!!!!

Most of our generation were HOME SCHOOLED in many ways. Amen to that! Pictured to the left is my Mom, Ruth Irene Moede. This is her High School graduation picture. She was an angel on earth, now an angel in heaven. Pictured at the very top is Mom and Dad on their wedding day! MY HEROES FOREVER AND EVER!!! THANK YOU LORD FOR MY MOM AND DAD! They taught me so much LORD! INTEGRITY!!!!!! HARD WORK!!!! LOYALTY!!! WE ARE ALL CREATED EQUALLY IN YOU LORD!!!!!!!

They called my Mom back home, ‘Wally’s shadow’, but what they did not know is that Mom was right by Dad’s side helping him in everything he did and also cooking at the school and teaching us kid’s right from wrong, along with Dad. The All-American family. Mom and Dad working together in raising and providing for a family.

Some of you will find the below funny, but I think you also will relate to this as to what your folks taught you. You see, a top reason why America is in such sad shape is the home, the family is being ripped to shreds. You could pass a boat load of legislation to rule over the family but unless people are connected to God it just means continued failure. You see as many tell me, I had an All-American, Midwest childhood, in Windom, Minnesota!!! Many of my buddies say I grew up in Mayberry, with Sheriff Andy, Aunt Bea and Opie! Nothing better than that!  God now has me at FGGAM using my life to share what ‘can be’ with God.

I hope this message from Darlene Quiring back in 2014 gives you some laughs and memories!
