Turmoil Continues in the Southern Baptist Convention: Conservative Baptist Network, Mike Stone Call for Resignation of SBC President Ed Litton

I pray that the Southern Baptist Convention can seek the face of JESUS and straighten up! All this junk is showing an unbelieving world just what it wants to see of the Church! All this continued turmoil is hurting the bride of Christ. I have had more than one Southern Baptist come up to me and say they have had enough of the Convention and may join an Independent Baptist Church. Dysfunction in the Church always means the Church got off the track somewhere.

The Conservative Baptist Network of Southern Baptists (CBN) released a statement on July 20, 2021, calling for newly elected Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) President Ed Litton‘s resignation, citing recent reports that Litton plagiarized J.D. Greear’s sermon series on Romans. Greear had earlier responded to the reports, saying he had granted Litton permission to use the sermons.
