We’ll all experience storms in our lives and Scripture is clear that trouble and trials will be a part of our life. So what can we do when facing these storms?
1 Corinthians 16:13 tells us to,
“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith and be strong.”
When our faith is challenged, and when we face these storms, remember to stand on the Rock, which is Christ.
His Word is a firm place to stand. He does not change like shifting shadows. So this firm foundation is the perfect place to build our faith on.
The steps we’ll take in order to weather these storms will direct our path. So, choose your steps wisely.
Scripture tells us that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8
“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:58
“I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet upon a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”
Psalm 40:1-2
Take the time to be still, know that God is who He says He is, and this is but a season we find ourselves in.
Keep your eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith
Hebrews 12:2
God would have us trust Him in the difficult trials, For even though we cannot understand, He loves us and He is in control. He will use these trials to help us grow spiritually and to help us mature and become more like Christ .
Trust Him. Keep your eyes on Him. And God will use even this trial for His glory.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:2-5
Trials will come, and we should not be caught off guard. In fact, they’re the very thing God uses to test our faith.
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
1 Peter 4:12-13
Jesus said in John 15 that we must remain connected to him in order to bear fruit in our lives. For he is the True Vine.
We simply can’t do or be what God has called us to, if we’re not staying connected to Him .
But, doing this takes some effort, and we need to be aware of those things that may take our focus away from Jesus.
So, keep your eyes open and stay alert.
Many Blessings to you,
Connie
