Friend —

Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, For to You I pray. In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch. Psalm 5:2-3 NAS

The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to “Mobilize unified public prayer for America.” Despite what our name might lead you to think, we are praying and serving every day of the year. Our celebration and culmination of 364 other days of prayer coming together on the National Day of Prayer which, by law, is the First Thursday of May. We are grateful for our rich history of getting to steer and steward this wonderful day and for our tens of thousands of coordinators, who are mobilizers and ministers in the prayer movement across America.

Our eight National Area Leaders, 60 State and Territory coordinators, along with the thousands of prayer shield, Capital, and event coordinators, mobilize prayer, organize compassion ministry to meet needs in their cities and states, and share the gospel of Jesus in America every single day. We are grateful for the hearts that God has established in them to love God and love and people. If you do not know your NDP State Coordinator, or if would like to pray for them by name, or even get involved as a volunteer, please click the following link to go to our” Volunteer” page on our website and then click on your state to learn about your coordinator and how you can contact them. https://www.nationaldayofprayer.org/state_coordinators

Our National Day of Prayer Prayerline brings people together to pray at least four hours every day from 10AM – Noon and 10 PM to midnight. We invite you to join us in prayer by calling 667-770-1523 passcode: 4961322#. Many days we extend our prayer hours including the first Thursday of every month when we host our “Pray for America” two-hour prayer call at 8:00 ET. January is a special call as all of our National and State Coordinators lead us in a prayer for their state sharing specific Scriptures that God has put on their heart to pray over their state for the year. From East to West, we prayed over every state, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Click here to view or download the complete list of states and their 2022 Scriptures!

We would be honored if you would take some time this year to pray these Scriptures along with us. God may be calling you to pray for one state a week, maybe even one a day. In whatever way the Lord leads you, we invite you to pray in agreement with us by praying the Scriptures we have included in this message for each state, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

Would you please join us in prayer now?

Lord Jesus, we thank you for the assurance and power of Your Word. You are the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us and in You, through You, in the promises we have from You, we know that Your Word never returns void. Thank You for preparing the hearts of these NDP coordinators with a specific Scripture for us to pray over the states and territories. Please prompt us to pray Your Word and will be done across America every day and watch eagerly for Your answers as we pray. Thank You Lord Jesus for the National Day of Prayer Task Force, guide and guard each coordinator as they mobilize prayer and ministry across America.

Serving Him with gladness,

Kathy Branzell

About the National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress’ proclamation in 1775 setting aside a day of prayer. In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer and, in 1988, that law was amended, designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.
